Heathfield Royals vs CMS Matchday 3
Date: 22-9-13
Venue: Nobes Avenue
Result: CJ Glass 1-4 CMS (Clarkson, OG, Cunningham, Cole)
Today CMS arrived at Nobes Avenue ready for arguably the toughest challenge they will face all season. The Nobes grounds men had done a marvellous job removing the usual heroine needles, broken glass, bloodied knives and rogue ketamine tablets but had somehow neglected to do anything to the actual grass!
Before beginning this report it is necessary I feel for everyone to watch and appreciate the magnitude of what happened today. The following video sent similar shivers around the sporting world. Dare I say - 'A changing of the guard'.

CJ and CMS began trading blows throughout the first half and I would go as far to say that CJ looked after the ball better but with no real end product. That can be attributed to a solid defensive display and a composed goalkeeping performance. CMS have looked dangerous all season and when Martin Cole picked out Lewis Clarkson, the midfielder rasped a low drive into the far corner. In truth certain CJ players were looking for their heads before kick off and a few more began to watch theirs disappear as CMS continued to frustrate. In a Bowyer/Dyer-esque moment, CJ even appeared to be brawling amongst themselves! Apparently Rich Peryy, who was watching from afar, went around collecting lost heads to replace his own which is yet to be found!
HT - CJ 0-1 CMS
James Hardy removed himself from second half proceedings due to a severe case of breadstick legs and while there was some worry for Hardy, more concern was sent the way of Tom Cunningham who had begun to shake violently at the removal of his midfield partner! A tear was rumoured to have been shed but that is still to be confirmed. Rich Claxton, Jack Curson (on debut) and Donald Rugge were also introduced in place of Hardy, Day and Archer.
The second half was a tactical master class from CMS who frustrated their illustrious opponents and delivered a counter attacking performance of the highest order. A Chris Cunningham corner found a CJ Glass head and the ball was directed into their own goal to give CMS a two goal lead. This lead was halved when Nathan Mancell fed Barry Snelling but CMS could smell blood...
After a few back to the wall moments and a little girl's scream from Mole, Sam Smith released Cunningham who thumped a bullet across goal and it blistered into the far corner. CJ were at a loss now and began to throw players aimlessly forward. CMS found numerous holes in behind and in actual fact the holes were so big that Sam Smith found himself marauding (Matt Wadham style) down the left. Smith proceeded to lay the ball to Cole who found himself at the absolute maximum of his shooting distance......4 yards out. His ripping drive barely crossed the line in truth but nevertheless it was 4-1.
One moment of madness was still to occur as Donald Rugge slyly blocked the ball with his hand and even went so far as to issue the hands on head reaction. In all honesty it was a great spot from the referee as Rugge did everything possible to be subtle!
The final score was 4-1 to CMS who have now picked up a mass of tremors and launched them down the spine of the Gosport Fareham and Solent League. If you listen carefully you can hear the sound of opposition's chocolate channels flapping as we speak...
The following picture was found of Paul Pinder after the game and I think it sums up his mood perfectly.

You will have to excuse me now as I wrongly assumed Joe Archer had kept Louis Dempsey in his pocket, alas I have found him lurking in mine. I feel I should return him.
